Elizabeth Curda

U.S. Government Accountability Office

Elizabeth H. Curda (MA, Public Administration, Columbia University) is a director in the Education, Workforce, and Income Security team of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). She oversees a portfolio of audits of federal disability programs at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Social Security Administration, and the Railroad Retirement Board, among other agencies. Her portfolio also addresses the role federal programs play in providing equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life. Ms. Curda joined GAO in January 1992. She has conducted and led audits and advised agency officials on a wide range of federal performance and budget issues, including the use of strategic planning and other leading performance management techniques to achieve results. She became a director in her current team in April 2017. Ms. Curda co-facilitated the discussion of the “Use of Demonstrations” presentation at Lessons Learned from SSA Demonstrations: A State of the Science Meeting.
